You Spin Me Right Round

I know there are a lot of bloggers whose photographers are really good at what they do.  And the blogger basically just gets to be the model while the photographer shoots away.  That is so not my situation.  My husband is not into photography so all the photos you see are from me fiddling with the controls and telling him where to stand, how close to get, etc.  But he does a great job, doesn't he? :)

I've always really loved the still motion photographs that we all see quite frequently in sports.  The shot is taken in that "active" moment without motion blur.  It's one of the things that I love to do when I wear skirts such as these.  I finally messed with the settings of my DSLR enough to get those photos now and they're so much fun.  In the final 3 photos, you can really see the whole 360 degree turn.  Got the hair going and everything.  LOL.  What do you think?  Do you like stop motion photography?

I just LOVE the stop motion pics! They are so vibrant and FUN! You're lucky that your husband will take pics of you everyday - mine has a time or two, but he thinks me rather silly, and I could never get him to do it everyday, lol. I take my own with a tripod and a timer, but actually, I really enjoy the alone time, and I tend to feel more free to experiment without feeling like a dork when no one's watching ;) GREAT post - great to be back a bit.

Tracy (The Wardrobe Wanderer - but I'm leaving a link to another of my blogs) I hope you don't find me too cheeky when you read my post! :P

Hey Toni!

I think your hubby does a fine job taking photos :) I'm in a similar situation! My boyfriend will happily take photos but he doesn't care to learn the different modes and what nots. I keep telling myself I need to buy a tripod, haha!

I love the stop motion photos you speak of. I think they're so awesome and definitely add character and charm to the photos. I really like that last photo of you a lot! I need to learn that, to move and take cool photos. I always just stand there slacked jawed and pretty much drooling on myself cos I don't know how else to take photos. lol

And I totally just got your comment! Are you still in Sac? If so, I would love to meet up tomorrow (Wed) while you go to Crossroads and stuff! Which are you going to? Arden?

I feel you on the husband not a photographer thing. Although, I think mine would probably be better at it if he just tried. I have to twist his arm to take the pictures and sometimes, the tripod works better. Haha! I love how you styled the Jason Wu piece. Great look!

aw at least your hubby ended up taking some pretty good shots in the end! :P the shots of you twirling around are so cute! haha and thankyou for your tip about ironing out the pleated skirt. I'm a total noob when it comes to these things and what you said makes a lot of sense, so I'm going to follow your tip.
ooh and congrats on getting that 3d mesh top! hope you like it when it comes, and do an outfit post with it :D

Yes! I love photographs where they seem more candid, snapshots of things as they're happening. I think your husband's doing good with the photos – he'll just get better the more he takes, too. :)
